The happy few also regularly visiting the US forum know about the Hymee Short Shifter. This device actually reduce the amplitude of the movement necessary to engage a gear when shifting. If you believe people having tested it or other short throw shifters on other vehicle, there is a real increase in driving pleasure from such an easy and small modification. Unfortunatelly, it is only available for 6 speed transmissions right now (but that might change too).
The short throw shifter is a direct replacement of the original part and can be fitted with the original gaitor and handle for maximum discreecy. The part was designed by Richard Paul in US (the axial flow supercharger guy) and exclusively distributed outside USA by Hymee .

The pricing is 299 Eur all taxes and fees included, plus shipping from Belgium.

A first batch of 5 units left USA for Europe this week. So the part will be available any day now. 3 out of the 5 initial units are already spoken for.

For SP owners, Tertou is going to try to fit one to a 5 speed manual transmission. We'll see.

Tertou heeft een 6MT short shifter op z'n 5MT SP RX8 geprobeerd. Het werkt niet! Ik ben aan the zoeken voor een alternatieve short shifter, bij de zelvde machine shop, te vinden voor SP eigenaren.
