I was a passenger on 2 occasions.
First 45 min (reduced to 30 min due to GT3 RS crash!) run with Tertou in his std power : fun fun fun. I really laughed. The car was going all over the place and Tertou managed to keep on the road all the times. Some other cars could not follow him in the twisty bits, despite being his first time on a track.
Second run with Mag (high power) : very very clean lines, fast with strong, long and painful lateral accelerations (I asked him to drop me after only 4 laps!). Best lap at 3'35".
There were demo Nissan 350Z's lapping extremely fast on the circuit, with pro drivers (piloten) on board. I would have loved to see one of these drivers in the RX8 for a direct comparison. The Z looks fast and well balanced too.
A GT3 RS went out. I asked his feeling to the driver of another GT3 RS and he mentioned how critical tyre pressure was. He was riding on nice sticky Pirelli P Zero Corsa (racing tyres that are homologated for road use). Tyre pressure must be reduced for track use as it rises with heat on the track. He thought the other GT3 RS owner left the road tyre pressure that rose so high it modified the grip of the rear tyres. And when such a car goes over the limit, there is now way to get it back! Bang!
Tha RX8 is playful, rewarding and, with its road tyres and confy suspension, much more forgiving than real track beasts! A real pleasure...
We also had the pleasure to meet another two unannounced RX8 drivers (RenesisMSA, also member of this forum and a recent French forum member based in Liège/Luik!).
